Rules, etiquette & handicapping

Golf is played according to a set of rules, a code of behaviour and a handicap system.  Familiarisation with these enhances the enjoyment of the game.

The Rules of Golf

The Rules of Golf are universal but unlike many other sports, are applied by the players themselves. Therefore, every golfer should carry a Rules of Golf book, which is free and available from most golf clubs or State Associations. There are some simple rules of golf that will assist beginners to the game. CLICK HERE

Golf Etiquette

What is a Golf Handicap?

A handicap is a number assigned to a player which reflects their ability or relative ability. Handicaps allow players to compete on an equal footing with others. The lower the handicap, the better the player is relative to someone with a higher handicap. CLICK HERE
